Summer Outdoor Yoga Series in Grand Rapids 2026

Outdoor Yoga in Grand Rapids: Summer on the Terrace

June 5, 2026/in Fever Yoga Cycle Strength /by Shannon Austin

When most people think about outdoor yoga in Grand Rapids, they picture rolling out a mat in a local park, finding a patch of grass, and enjoying a beautiful Michigan summer morning.

And while we love our parks, we’ve discovered something even better.

This summer, Fever | Yoga Cycle Strength is bringing our outdoor yoga series to the terrace at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, creating an experience that combines movement, art, community, and downtown energy in a way that traditional park yoga simply can’t.

A Better Surface for Your Yoga Practice

Practicing yoga outdoors sounds idyllic until you’re balancing in Warrior III on uneven ground, navigating soft grass, or discovering an unexpected ant hill halfway through class.

The Grand Rapids Art Museum terrace provides a clean, stable surface that allows you to focus on your breath and movement instead of worrying about what’s underneath your mat.

Whether you’re new to yoga or have been practicing for years, a consistent surface creates a more comfortable and accessible experience.

All the Benefits of Being Outside

You’ll still enjoy everything that makes outdoor yoga special:

• Fresh air

• Natural sunlight

• A gentle summer breeze

• The energy of practicing in an open environment

• A deeper connection to the season

The difference is that you’re able to enjoy those benefits without many of the distractions that often come with practicing in a grassy park setting.

Yoga Right in the Heart of Downtown Grand Rapids

One of our favorite things about hosting yoga at the Grand Rapids Art Museum is the location itself.

Before or after class, you can grab coffee, meet a friend for brunch, browse local shops, explore downtown, or spend time enjoying the museum and surrounding cultural district.

Instead of driving to a park and driving home, your yoga practice becomes part of a complete summer morning experience.

Stay Hydrated During your Yoga Practice with OHY Water

We’re excited to partner with OHY Water throughout the series.

Participants will have access to complimentary hydration before class, making it even easier to stay refreshed during the warmer summer months.

Bring a Guest to Outdoor Yoga

Summer is the perfect time to introduce someone to yoga.

Whether you’re bringing a spouse, friend, coworker, or family member, outdoor classes create a welcoming environment for people who may be trying yoga for the first time.

The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and supportive community make it easy to step onto the mat and see what yoga is all about.

Who Can Attend the Summer Yoga Series?

Our outdoor yoga series runs from late June through the end of August on the terrace at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. During the summer series, our Saturday morning practice moves from the studio to the terrace at the GRAM.
